England begin training ahead of Malta & Slovakia qualifiers

The England squad took part in a late-afternoon training session at St. George's Park as the build-up to September's big World Cup qualifiers gets under way.

New boys Nathaniel Chalobah and Harry Maguire were among the players taking to the pitch, while those who played for their clubs on Sunday working indoors.

The 28-man group checked in at the national football centre on Sunday evening, and will be based in Staffordshire until Thursday.

The Three Lions face Malta on Friday at 7.45pm (BST), before heading home to take on Slovakia at Wembley Stadium next Monday.
