England Futsal celebrate their Four Nations Tournament success

England Futsal defeated Wales, Northern Ireland and host nation Scotland to clinch the Four Nations Tournament title for the first time.

Michael Skubala’s side opened with a 3-0 win over the Red Dragons, courtesy of a Richard Ward brace and a sublime finish by Liam Palfreeman.

England then sauntered to a 5-1 rout of Northern Ireland with two goals from Stuart Cook and further strikes by Calvin Dickson, Doug Reed and captain Raoni Medina.

This set up a winner-takes-all encounter against Scotland – and the Three Lions’ domination continued.

Ward and Medina hit a double apiece while Russell Goldstein also got on the scoresheet to complete a 5-0 victory, and with it the title.

Skubala said: “It was a really pleasing weekend.

“Winning is important but the way we dominated and managed the games was just as rewarding.

“Not only that, but also some younger players had the opportunity to experience the intensity and competitive nature of senior international Futsal.”
