Alessia Russo rescued a point for England

Alessia Russo scored in the 90th minute to rescue a draw for England Women’s Under-20s against USA in the opening match of the Nike International Tournament.

A Sophia Smith brace and an own goal by Grace Fisk had given the hosts a 3-2 lead in Florida, with the Young Lionesses’ goals coming from Ellie Brazil and Anna Patten.

Smith’s second goal came on 87 minutes and looked to have won the game for Jitka Klimkova’s side.

But Russo popped up right at the death to earn a point for England.
