Alessia Russo’s goal clinched victory for England over Brazil in a keenly fought second contest at the Nike International Tournament in Florida.
England had been on the back foot in the first half with Sandy McIver keeping out a fierce effort from Kerolin before Victoria went close for the South American side.
McIver was in good form and would frustrate the Brazilians throughout the match.
Russo’s goal came on after a quick breakaway from England with Charlie Wellings getting forward before finding her team-mate in space.
Russo showed real composure to steady herself before firing beyond Kemelli in the Brazil goal.
