Brackley Town delivered an impeccable away performance to reach The Buildbase FA Trophy quarter-finals with a 4-1 victory away at Wealdstone.
Jimmy Armson proved the hero with two goals in the opening 11 minutes for the National League North side, the first a pin-point effort beyond the goalkeeper, then he took advantage of a scrappy corner just moments later.
It was to be 3-0 just before half-time when David Moyo slotted home, while Armson shot narrowly wide in his bid for the match-ball.
Wealdstone threatened a comeback through Danny Green’s side-footed effort, though Lee Ndlovu responded to fire his side one step closer to Wembley with 28 minutes still to play.
Macclesfield Town will join them in the last eight, as Danny Whitehead’s deflected strike saw his side get the better of fellow National League high-flyers Forest Green Rovers.
The Silkmen have lost just once in 2017, and Whitehead ensured that that run was not going to end any time soon, with his long-range shot finding its way into the back of the Rovers net.
But with the goal coming in just 11 minutes, Forest Green boasted plenty of opportunities, pouring forward in the second half, with Scott Flinders forced to save magnificently from an Ethan Pinnock cross in the game’s dying embers.
Barrow kept their hopes alive with a 1-0 win over Kidderminster Harriers.
Richie Bennett’s goal just a few minutes into the second half proved the difference, with the 1989-90 and 2009-10 winners holding on for dear life as defender Keith Lowe drew a dazzling save from the home keeper.
Lincoln City scored their third away win of their competition with a 3-1 defeat of Welling United.
Dayle Southwell scored early on, while a quick-fire double from Joe Ward minutes after the break ended Welling chances, despite Danny Waldren’s consolatory goal.
Three first-half goals from York City saw them ease past Nuneaton Town, with Amari Morgan-Smith, Vadaine Oliver and Sean Newton scoring within 19 minutes on a comfortable afternoon.
But Sutton United will have to do it all again, holding off Boreham Wood despite being reduced to nine men.
Ben Jefford was sent off for two yellow cards while Craig Eastmond also saw red in the 0-0 stalemate, with the two set to do battle in a replay.
Tranmere Rovers and Chelmsford must also replay as Cole Stockton levelled up with 20 minutes to go against the visitors, who had opened the scoring through a Robbie Willmott screamer.
Braintree and Dulwich Hamlet also need 90 minutes more football following their 0-0 draw.
