The Emirates FA Cup returns with 32 ties in four days

Premier League and Championship clubs enter the competition for the first time at the third round stage

The Emirates FA Cup third round proper takes place in the first weekend of January

The Emirates FA Cup returns with the third round taking place over the first weekend of January.

It all kicks-off on Friday evening when West Ham United host Manchester City at the London Stadium, live on BBC One.

Saturday sees 25 ties taking place, with all but two of them kicking-off at the traditional 3pm slot.

Viewers at home can watch former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam take his current club Reading to Old Trafford, where they meet at 12.30pm, live on BT Sport.

And Saturday’s evening match sees Preston North End play Arsenal at Deepdale, also on BT Sport at 5.30pm.

There are five ties on Sunday, starting with Cardiff City’s game against Fulham at 11.30am which is live on BBC Wales.

After that, League Two high-fliers Plymouth Argyle will be looking to spring an upset at Anfield as they face Liverpool live on BT Sport.

Chelsea take on Peterborough United and Middlesbrough host Sheffield Wednesday at 3pm on Sunday, whilst the BBC One cameras are at White Hart Lane to screen Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Aston Villa from 4pm.

The final tie takes place on Monday evening, when Cambridge United play Leeds United at the Abbey Stadium which will be broadcast live on BT Sport.

All winners in the third round will receive £67,500 from The FA's prize fund.
