Derby County boss Steve McClaren is calling on their fans to roar the Rams into the Emirates FA Cup fifth round.
The Championship side host East Midlands rivals Leicester City in the first of this weekend’s fourth round ties on Friday evening.
And McClaren wants to see a full house at Pride Park to help give his players an added boost as they look to knock the Premier League champions, who will be backed by 5000 travelling fans at the game, out of The Cup.
“We have to make sure we start aggressively against Leicester and the supporters can help us do that,” said the former England and Middlesbrough boss, speaking to Rams TV.
“We need to create an unbelievable atmosphere on Friday – with the flags and also vocally too.
“They helped us against Reading on Saturday [a 3-2 win]. I know they were a bit frustrated at times, like we all were, but they are a massive plus for us.
“Towards the end when there was a lot of pressure thrown at us, they helped us then well.”
McClaren’s side head into Friday’s tie having already beaten one top-flight team, following their 2-1 win at West Bromwich Albion in the third round.
