Claudia Walker nets twice as England open Nordics with win over Sweden

Everton forward Claudia Walker scored a brace against Sweden

Claudia Walker scored twice as England Women’s Under-23s registered a comfortable 4-0 win over host nation Sweden in the opening match of the annual Nordic Tournament.

The Everton forward broke the deadlock just after the half-hour mark and then doubled the lead shortly after.

Player of the match Bethany England added a third on 50 minutes before Arsenal’s Beth Mead completed the convincing victory with less than 20 minutes remaining.

England’s second match is against USA on Friday afternoon followed by Norway next Monday.
