To celebrate being the first non-league team to reach the Emirates FA Cup quarter-finals since 1914, Budweiser is transporting Lincoln City’s favourite local pub to London.
Budweiser – the official beer of The Emirates FA Cup – will recreate the iconic Lincoln Imp pub around the corner from Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, giving Imps fans a home-away-from-home before they head into their last-eight battle.
Less than a mile from the stadium and complete with famous landlady Avril Pickard, regular barmaids and famous Imp totem statue, The Lincoln Imp will be the top spot for fans travelling down to London to show their unwavering support for their team ahead of the big game.
Budweiser has recruited former FA Cup winner Graeme Le Saux to raise a Bud with the fans at The Lincoln Imp, sharing some motivational words for fans who’ve loyally supported Lincoln as they reached the tournament’s final eight and broke Emirates FA Cup records.
All Lincoln City supporters aged 18 years or over who visit The Lincoln Imp’s one-day stint in London are also able to toast their achievement with a complimentary beer on the house before the match kicks off at 5.30pm.
Budweiser have also put on a traditional Lincolnshire spread, including popular Lincolnshire sausages, locally sourced cheese from the city’s well-known Cheese Society shop – Lincoln Imp cheddar and Lincolnshire poacher – plus special plum bread from the city’s Welbourne’s Bakery.
Landlady Avril, who has served Imps fans since 1985, has also donated her collection of historic Lincoln Imp pub memorabilia, including 14 different framed pictures, 15 trophies, photos of the pub’s locals, and even a model of the pub itself.
A favourite with Lincoln fans for over 60 years, The Lincoln Imp is currently under threat of closure – making this unique recreation in London an even more special gesture for the supporters.
