Sunderland were crowned as Emirates FA Cup winners at Wembley on Sunday, in the second edition of Every Gamer’s Adventure.

The Black Cats, expertly piloted by Alastair Drakesmith, beat last year’s champions Chelsea in the Final, which was played out on the Wembley pitch.

And it came on the back of an entertaining day of gaming, with 64 lucky participants invited to the national stadium to represent their clubs in the FIFA 17 competition on Playstation 4.

Each gamer, randomly selected from over 12,000 entries to represent their team, took control from this year’s third round proper onwards.

The early rounds were played in iconic locations around the stadium, such as the changing rooms and players' tunnel, with the two eventual finalists playing the virtual final using Wembley's 82 foot screens as they sit on the edge of the pitch.

Matches were streamed live throughout the day on the FATV YouTube channel, allowing the e-sports community a behind-the-scenes perspective.

Hosts Colin Murray and Rachel Stringer were also be joined on the day by YouTube stars and FIFA gaming fanatics – Tobiias, Theo Baker and ReevHD – who offered our competing gamers the opportunity to test their skills against the pros.

And Alastair not only took the gaming Cup, but has also bagged himself four tickets to The Emirates FA Cup Final on Saturday 27 May to complete a memorable day for the lifelong Sunderland fan.

"It's good to win, it's a unique experience and it was very cool to do, it's an iconic stadium," said Alastair.

"It's been a very nice experience and I'm happy I could do it.

"I've supported Sunderland my whole life so I guess it's good that Sunderland could have something this year."
