Lionesses to complete Euro 2017 preparations against Denmark

England will play their final match before UEFA Women's Euro 2017 against Denmark

Denmark will be England’s opponents in their final match before this summer’s UEFA Women’s Euros.

The Lionesses will travel to Copenhagen to face Denmark at the Gladsaxe Stadium on Saturday 1 July, kick-off 6pm BST.

The two teams last faced each other at Swindon’s County Ground in 2009, with England triumphing 1-0 thanks to a goal from Jody Handley.

Denmark, who are 15th in the FIFA world rankings, are also heading to the Euros where they will face host nation Netherlands, Norway and Belgium in Group A.

England head coach Mark Sampson said: “Demark are a team who will have genuine ambitions of going a long way in the summer, so it will be a good challenge for us leading into the Euros.

“It will be our last game before the tournament so we will prepare well for the match and look to get a win as we head into the final phase of our Euros preparation.”

The Lionesses meet up for their Euros training camp on Monday 5 June. They will also play Switzerland in Biel on Saturday 10 June, kick-off 5.15pm BST.

England face Scotland in their Euro 2017 opener in Utrecht on Wednesday 19 July, before playing Spain in Breda on Sunday 23 July and Portugal in Tilburg on Thursday 27 July.
