With FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division leaders Middlesbrough inactive, Rosie Axten scored twice to help Leicester City defeat West Bromwich Albion and move up to second.
In the Southern Division, there were goals galore, including an 11-goal haul from table-toppers Charlton Athletic.
NORTHERN DIVISION
Leicester City now sit six points behind Middlesbrough courtesy of a comfortable 4-1 win on the road at West Brom.
Rosie Axten led the way with a brace, her two goals coming after Olivia Mitcham had given the Foxes the lead.
Leah Seivwright pulled one back for the hosts from the penalty spot but Shauna Cossens rounded things off.
Leicester were able to leapfrog Huddersfield Town, who slipped to a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Derby County, Nikki Ledge, Andi Bell and Leanne de Silva all finding the net at the Stafflex Arena.
Guiseley Vixens’ game against Nottingham Forest was abandoned midway through the first half due to a serious injury to a visiting player.
Fylde’s clash with Stoke City was postponed, as was Blackburn Rovers’ Lancashire FA Challenge Cup semi-final meeting with Bolton Wanderers.
SOUTHERN DIVISION
Top-of-the-table Charlton put 11 goals past bottom side Swindon Town and now have a five-point cushion over second-placed C & K Basildon.
Kit Graham, who opened the scoring at Bayliss Avenue, hit a hat-trick but she was outdone by teammate Charlotte Gurr, who bagged four goals for the Addicks.
Charlotte Lee racked up a brace while Hannah Churchill and Grace Coombs also got in on the act.
Charlton also beat Swindon by the same scoreline in the FA Women’s Premier League Cup in September.
Basildon moved up to second after winning 7-3 at West Ham United, the Essex outfit moving above Lewes who slipped to a 3-2 defeat at Portsmouth.
Maz Gauntlett’s hat-trick inspired Coventry United to a 10-1 success at Queens Park Rangers, with Helen Dermody notching twice, once from the penalty spot, while Laura Cooper, Amber Hughes, Alison Hall, Jade Formaston and Stephanie Smith all got themselves on the scoresheet.
Crystal Palace saw off Cardiff City 2-0 while Chichester City won 4-0 at Gillingham.
GAME OF THE WEEK
While it may have ultimately been a one-sided affair, Charlton’s 11-0 win over Swindon stands out from the crowd, with the Addicks sending out a major signal of intent.
MANAGER OF THE WEEK
Derby boss John Bennett led his team to a 3-2 win over rivals Forest in their last outing on November 12 – they followed that up with a superb victory away at high-flying Huddersfield.

Leicester grabbed the first of their four goals away to West Brom in style, with a clipped pass forward cut back across the face of goal for Olivia Mitcham to slam home at the far post.
