Jodie Taylor has been named on the shortlist for the Sunday Times Sportswomen of the Year award in association with Vitality.

The England striker picked up the Golden Boot at Euro 2017 after top-scoring with five goals.

Taylor netted in pre-tournament friendlies over the Netherlands, Italy and Switzerland before her finals spree began.

The 31-year-old served notice of her intentions by bagging a hat-trick in the 6-0 rout of Scotland.

She then added to her tally with a goal against Spain and the winner against France, England’s first victory over Les Bleues in 43 years.

Birkenhead-born Taylor also got on the scoresheet in the Lionesses’ 6-0 World Cup qualifying win over Russia at Tranmere Rovers’ Prenton Park in September.
