England U20s picked up an impressive victory on the road on Thursday evening, with a 5-1 win over Italy.
Keith Downing’s men really found their form in Gorgonzola to build on last month’s results against the Netherlands and Switzerland.
And it took less than five minutes to get the scoring underway as Isaac Buckley-Ricketts headed the Young Lions in front, before the Azzurrini drew level on the quarter-hour mark.
But England were in clinical form after that, as Spurs starlet Marcus Edwards restored the lead after 21 minutes before Buckley-Ricketts added his second and gave his side a two-goal advantage ten minutes before the break.
With Italy looking to find a way back into the match after the re-start, it allowed England to take advantage and they found a fourth just after the hour through captain Easah Suliman.
And Ike Ugbo completed the scoring from the penalty spot in the 67th minute to give Downing’s side an excellent start to the week.
The squad will now return to St. George’s Park, where they will face Czech Republic on Tuesday afternoon.
