There were only six games across the FA Women's Premier League this Sunday, but still plenty of action as Charlton stretched their lead at the top and Wolves earned their first point of the season.
Northern Division
Derby County earned a valuable point with a 1-1 draw away at Fylde, with a frantic finale seeing the sides end all-square.
The Derbyshire outfit were the first to score after good work from Andi Bell, but Lagan Makin turned the ball in from a tight angle to equalise with a few minutes left on the clock.
Wolverhampton Wanderers earned their first point of the season with a 2-2 scoreline against Guiseley Vixens, who sit one place above them in the table in 11th.
Nikki Berko bagged two goals on her return from injury for the Vixens, but Laura McQuilkin and Leanne Robinson also got on the scoresheet to leave the teams level.
West Bromwich Albion are up to eighth thanks to a comeback 2-1 win over Huddersfield Town.
Sarah Danby put the visitors ahead but substitute Leanne Mitchell got the Baggies back in it before Antonia Smith’s 20-yard free-kick settled affairs.
Southern Division
Charlton Athletic strengthened their position at the top of the Southern Division table with a 4-1 win at home to C & K Basildon.
Kit Graham, Charlotte Gurr, Katie Flack and Emma Sherwood all scored for the hosts, with Angela Addison heading in a consolation for the visitors.
Lewes kept up the pressure on the league leaders though with a hard-fought 2-1 victory away to Chichester City at Oaklands Park.
Chloe Tucker’s free-kick brought the hosts level before half-time, but Rebecca Carter wrapped up the points with her second-half effort.
The third match to be played on Sunday saw Portsmouth edge to a 2-1 victory over West Ham United to move up to fifth in the division.
The teams were deadlocked until the 84th minute but Shannon Sievwright got the hosts off the mark, West Ham equalised but Rachel Panting struck and injury-time penalty to break Hammers’ hearts.
Game of the week
Guiseley and Wolves occupy the bottom spots of the Northern Division, but they played out an intense 2-2 draw with neither side willing to take a backward step.
Wolves scored early and led until Berko came on to score in the 68th minute.
Berko then completed her double with a classy finish before McQuilkin tucked her free-kick into the bottom corner to share the points.
Goal of the week
Chloe Tucker is no stranger to a fine finish, but her world-class free-kick for Chichester against Lewes was the best of the weekend, flying into the top corner to leave the keeper with no chance.
Manager of the week
Huddersfield could have leapfrogged Middlesbrough into top spot with a win at West Brom on Sunday.
But Louis Sowe had other ideas, leading the Baggies to a 2-1 win to follow up a 4-2 victory away at Wolves on Wednesday.
Player of the week
If Nikki Berko had played from the start in the 2-2 draw between Guiseley and Wolves the scoreline may have been different.
The prolific forward is only just coming back from injury and was only introduced to the action in the 63rd minute, but still made the difference with two well-taken efforts.
