Hat-trick hero Lauren Hemp put the England's stunning 6-1 comeback over Mexico down to keeping positive and sticking to the game plan.
Trailing by a single goal at half-time, the Young Lionesses responded remarkably after the break with five goals in the space of 20 minutes, the third and fifth by Hemp herself, to secure a place in the quarter finals of the FIFA Women's U20 World Cup.
Speaking about head coach Mo Marley’s half-time team talk, the Manchester City attacker said: "We just kept positive.
"Even though we were 1-0 down we kept focusing on the game plan and stuck to it.
"Once we got a goal everyone’s spirits just lifted and then we got into the mindset that we were going to keep pushing for more and more goals," said the 18-year-old.
After being named player of the match in the first group match against North Korea, Hemp again collected this accolade, alongside the match ball, against Mexico.
"I’m really pleased to have contributed to the team’s success, but if it wasn’t for everyone else we wouldn’t be able to do what we’ve done," she said.
After netting twice during the 20-minute salvo, Hemp also concluded the scoring late on in rather unorthodox fashion by falling on the ball.
Footage of the finish emerged after the match and drew praise from former men’s senior forward Gary Lineker who called it: "Fantastic!"
Still unsure as to how she applied the final touch, Hemp revealed: "I’m not really sure how it ended up in the net really, but I’ll take any goals."
Team-mate and fellow goalscorer Chloe Kelly also spoke about how much the Young Lionesses enjoyed the second half.
“We go out there to have fun, you wouldn’t play football if you didn’t want to have fun, and it’s a great group of girls so who better to share this experience with?
“We’re all just buzzing with the win and to be playing great football,” the Everton forward said.
