As 2018 draws to a close, we’ll be hearing from some of the England squad on what their highlights of the year were.
For midfielder Dele, it was the togetherness and squad spirit within the Three Lions camp which was built up over the course of the year.
With the group together in Russia for over 50 days during their World Cup adventure last summer, the Tottenham Hotspur schemer believes there is now something special between the players and staff.
“We’re just so comfortable together and feel like we can talk to anyone,” revealed the former MK Dons youngster.
“When Gareth [Southgate] first came in, he made it clear that we were pulling in the same direction.
“When we went to the Marines and we saw the way they work and how they’re willing to die for each other, every day they have so much trust for each other.
“If we were ever going to do something great or achieve something together, we knew that was going to have to be our way of living.
“Whoever is next to you, you have 100 per cent trust in them and you know they’re willing to put themselves on the line for you and run through a brick wall for you.
“We know how good we are as a team and we had to overcome different situations in the build-up to the World Cup.”
