Dominic Calvert-Lewin is dreaming of heading up the England U21s attack in his hometown of Sheffield next month.
The Young Lions host Ukraine at Bramall Lane in their next Euro qualifying game on Tuesday 27 March.
And the game could see Everton striker Calvert-Lewin returning to where it all began for him, having started his career with Sheffield United.
“If I’m picked to play, it would definitely be a special moment for me,” he revealed.
“It puts a smile on my face just thinking about it. To run out for England in my hometown, at my boyhood club’s stadium, in front of so many of my family and friends would be a dream come true.”
The 20-year-old joined United’s academy ranks at the age of seven before graduating as a scholar and making his first-team debut in 2014.
He quickly caught the eye with his performances and was snapped up by Everton in 2016, after just 11 appearances for the Blades.
So should he make Aidy Boothroyd’s squad for March’s games, which also includes a match with Romania at Wolves, he’ll be looking forward to another return and a strong local turnout.
“I grew up supporting Sheffield United and watched many games at Bramall Lane as a kid growing up,” he added.
“It’s a great stadium and a great atmosphere to play in.
“I’ve played there a few times for Sheffield United and I know the Blades fans love Bramall Lane. It’s just a great, great stadium to play in.
“The city of Sheffield is very much like Liverpool really – they love their football and there’s a red and blue divide just like there is in Liverpool.
"But it will be great to see the fans of both Sheffield clubs turn out in force to support England and hopefully roar the team on."
Tickets for the game are on sale now, priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
You can also buy tickets for the game at Molineux on Saturday 24 March.
