Marske United down Bracknell Town to make Buildbase FA Vase semi-finals for the first time

Marske United cruised their way to the Buildbase FA Vase semi-finals with a 3-0 away win over Bracknell Town.

The Seasiders took the lead seconds before half time when Curtis Round set-up Glen Butterworth on the edge of the box to drive home into the bottom corner.

Round made Town pay as he doubled Marske’s lead five minutes later with a controlled strike.

Danny Earl’s effort in the 88th minute was the cherry on top, as he latched onto Round’s pass and skipped through Bracknell’s defence, finishing on target to seal victory.

Stockton overcame Windsor 2-0 in a comfortable victory Bishopton Road West as they moved one step closer to Wembley.

Fred Woodhouse provided a fine assist to Tom Coulthard who opened the scoring on 28 minutes.

Their lead was doubled on 41 minutes as James Ward crossed to striker Jamie Owens, who headed low past Hugo Sobte.

After the break, Windsor tried to get back into the game but were held by Stockton’s formidable defence.

Elsewhere, Leighton Town suffered heartbreak at home as they were defeated 1-0 by 1874 Northwich.

The visitors were awarded a penalty on 25 minutes after Domenico Marisela tripped Jake Parker in the area, with Scott McGowan converting clinically from the spot.

Leighton’s set pieces threatened throughout the match but failed to materialise into an equaliser, while 1874 resisted any defensive risks and retained their lead to book their place in the semi-finals.

The same scoreline was seen at Oakfields Stadium, as Melksham Town lost at home to Thatcham Town.

The highly competitive derby was decided by Ekow Elliott’s late winner, as he found the net on 89 minutes to take Thatcham through to the final four.
