The Emirates FA Cup provides the first major date of 2018’s football calendar, when the third round kicks-off this weekend.
With 32 ties taking place across Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, there’s no shortage of action and we can now reveal the match officials who will be taking charge of all the fixtures.
And with the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system being trialled in selected ties from the third round onwards, this also includes the addition of two designated VAR officials for the tie between Brighton & Hove Albion and Crystal Palace on Monday 8 January.
Neil Swarbrick is the official who will be the first-ever VAR in a competitive fixture in England and he will be assisted at the Amex Stadium by Peter Kirkup at the final tie of the weekend, which is also being screened live on BT Sport.
