Demarai Gray is looking forward to his first appearance at Molineux on Saturday as England U21s aim to pay their own tribute with a good performance in the Cyrille Regis International against Romania.

Saturday's game will be my first time playing at Molineux and I'm looking forward to the match

When I found out this fixture was at Molineux, I was excited as I’ve never played there and a lot of my family and friends are from around that area as well.

Everyone’s close by so I’m looking forward to playing there for the first time, especially for England.

Wolves have been doing well this season and hopefully that might attract more fans and people will come to support us.

We usually have a good turn-out for home games and it’s been a while since our last match so hopefully that will attract more fans here and it’s one to look forward to.

It’s a televised game and it’s a chance for us to show what we can do and express ourselves and show what we’re about.

The game has been dedicated to Cyrille Regis too, which is important for us so we can try and use our performance as a tribute to his life and achievements in the game.

It was such a shock, to wake up and hear the news of his passing back in January and it took a while to sink in but it was clear that everyone respected what type of man he was.

I met Cyrille a few times as he was the agent of one of my best friends in football and we had a few conversations when I’d seen him around Birmingham over the years.

I had the pleasure of meeting Cyrille on a number of occasions and he was a great guy

He’d always give me genuine advice and that’s something which I’ll always remember. He was such a nice guy and what he did in the game and the impact he had, it was such a big thing.

Being a black player myself, I understand what he did and how it’s still impacting us today.

The impact he had at his clubs is shown as all the fans are still showing their appreciation, and he broke up the divide in so many ways.

He did a lot and everyone in the game is respectful and understands that.

It’s important to remember history and it’ll be great to pay our respects to him on Saturday.

On a personal level, I’m hoping to get some games with England this week this week after a tough few months at Leicester.

It's always good to meet up with the England lads again

This part of my development was always going to be a roller-coaster and if I’m honest with myself, I’ve been a bit up and down compared to how I wanted it to go.

But I’ve still got to play in a lot more games than I did last season, I’ve started more games and I still feel I’m developing every day in training and getting better.

The new manager’s been working hard with me and over time, it will smooth out but right now, it’s been quite tough.

Sometimes it’s important to get away and into a different environment and it’s always nice to come back and see the lads again.

I just want to try and play well in the games and go back to Leicester in good shape and ready for the end of the season.

Tickets for the Cyrille Regis International at Molineux and next Tuesday’s Euro qualifier with Ukraine at Bramall Lane are on sale now, priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.
