There were four games across the Northern Division on Sunday and plenty of goals, starting with Leicester City’s 4-0 win away at Nottingham Forest.

In an incredible performance that must’ve shocked the Forest supporters, all four goals came inside the first half an hour and from the boots of Rosie Axten, Leigh Dugmore, Nicole Nymeon and Paige Stewart.

Moving over the to the West Midlands, West Bromwich Albion registered their fourth win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Bradford City.

The damage was done in the first-half here also, with two strikes from Jennifer Kikomenko enough to see West Brom past a late reply from Bradford.

Fylde and Stoke City drew 0-0 in the north west, whilst Guiseley Vixens lost out 2-0 at home to Derby County.

Guiseley stay bottom whilst Derby strengthen their hold on sixth thanks to goals from Lauren Cresswell and Shannon Weston.

SOUTHERN DIVISION

There were five matches across the Southern Division, all kicking off at 2pm and starting off with a thriller between Cardiff City and C&K Basildon that ended 4-2 to the Essex side.

Paige Wakefield grabbed a double for C&K Basildon to add to goals for sisters Theresa and Angela Addison.

There was just one goal in the match between Chichester City and Gillingham, with Jess Lewry’s 61st minute strike splitting the sides and sending the points her side’s way.

Lewes were also big winners in their fixture against QPR, prevailing 3-0, whilst Crystal Palace held on to top spot with a 4-0 win away at Portsmouth.

The match at Littlehampton Town was highlighted by a hat-trick for Gemma Bryan, her 100th club strike the first of the day, with Ellie Bailes also getting in on the act.

The day’s biggest scorers though were West Ham United, who hit six past Swindon Town.

Leanne Mabey and Molly Clark both scored, whilst Kelly Wealthall and Ellie Zoepfl registered doubles.

GAME OF THE WEEK

C&K Basildon have leapfrogged Charlton Athletic into second in the Southern Division table and did so courtesy of a brilliant match on their travels.

Paige Wakefield scored early on and Theresa Addison made it 2-0 before Cardiff got one back before half-time.

Angela Addison then made it 3-1, Cardiff again replied but Wakefield had the last laugh with her fantastic header to take the score to 4-2.

MANAGER OF THE WEEK

West Ham are seventh in the Southern Division but thanks to a good run of form are now just two points behind Chichester and Coventry United.

The Hammers are now unbeaten in nine contests, which interim head coach Karen Ray has to take credit for, the 6-0 win on Sunday a perfect display of the team’s capabilities at present.

GOAL OF THE WEEK

Leicester’s second against Forest was a real thing of beauty, starting with a cross-field ball played to Nat Johnson in the middle of the park.

Playing a direct style, she then hit a diagonal ball from just past the halfway line, Dugmore controlled it on her chest and fired past the onrushing goalkeeper.
