England slipped to a 2-1 defeat by Spain in their second group match at the UEFA Women’s U17s Championship finals.
The Young Lionesses, who drew 2-2 with Poland on Wednesday, fell behind after just four minutes through Paula Arana Montes’s strike.
Aston Villa’s Ebony Salmon levelled matters but Eva Maria Navarro nabbed the winner ten minutes from time.
To make it to the semi-finals, John Griffiths’s side must beat Italy on Tuesday and hope Poland do not beat Spain in the other Group B match.
