England U19s begin their campaign for the European Championships in November, as they travel to Turkey for the first qualifying round.
The Young Lions will take on opposition from the host nation, Moldova and Iceland with the aim being to progress to the elite round next March.
Head coach Keith Downing has picked a 21-man squad for the trip after what has been an impressive start to the season over the last two months.
October saw the U19s pick up a 4-1 away win over Portugal and a 6-2 victory against Macedonia at St. George’s Park, which came on the back of wins against Belgium and the Netherlands in September.
And Downing has called upon largely the same group of players again, with the exception of Arsenal defender Bukayo Saka, as they look to kick-start their road to next July’s Finals in Armenia.
“We have one or two absentees from the October squad, but we feel we have a competitive group of players going into the qualifiers with good momentum,” said Downing ahead of the trip.
“We are under no illusions that the group will be a test and we need to be fully focused and at our best to qualify.”
Their first game comes on Wednesday 14 July when they face Moldova, before moving on to play Iceland on Saturday 17 November. The final game is against hosts Turkey on Tuesday 20 November, with all three games being staged in Manavgat in the Antalya region.
