England U21s will play Italy away in November as they begin their preparations for next summer's U21 Euro Finals.
The Young Lions will take on the Azzurrini at Stadio Paolo Mazza in Ferrara on Thursday 15 November (5.30pm GMT).
Aidy Boothroyd's side qualified for the finals last week with a comprehensive 7-0 win over Andorra in Chesterfield, before finishing an unbeaten campaign with a 2-0 victory against Scotland at Tynecastle.
The tournament will be hosted by Italy and San Marino next June and this is the seventh successive time England have qualified for the finals – a tournament record.
"This match really marks the start of our preparation for the Euros," said head coach Boothroyd.
"It’s a great chance to not only play a very good Italian team, but also for the players to experience the country itself before we are based there during the tournament.
"It’s also a chance to start working on how we want to play in the tournament, our game plans and getting our best squad together.
"We’re looking to play other top European teams ahead of the tournament, so we’re in the best position possible to do well next summer."
The two nations last met at U21 level two years ago when they played in similar circumstances at Southampton's St. Mary's Stadium in November 2016.
Boothroyd was in charge on that occasion too, when it took a dramatic last-minute goal from defender Jack Stephens to secure a 3-2 victory.
England will find out who they will face at the Euros when the draw takes place in Bologna on Friday 23 November.
