England U20s got their new campaign off to a winning start on Thursday afternoon, with a 2-0 victory over Switzerland at St. George’s Park.
Paul Simpson’s squad have been in camp at the national football centre all week in preparation for their two games this month.
And they didn’t have to wait long to get into the groove, as George Hirst put the Young Lions ahead after just four minutes.
The advantage was doubled on the hour mark when Elliot Embleton, currently on loan at Grimsby Town from Sunderland, added his name to the scoresheet to complete the scoring.
Simpson and his squad will now head to Katwijk, where they will face a match against the Netherlands on Monday evening.
