With the Canada match being held at the Academy Stadium in Manchester, it’s the first time every single member of my family are able to come and watch us.
I go to the Academy Stadium a lot to watch Manchester City Women play. It’s a ground most of the squad will be familiar with and I think it’s a great stadium for women’s football, one that can help generate a terrific atmosphere.
It’s fantastic that the Canada game has sold out, and that just shows that people in the north-west are really behind us.
And Canada are a really good, physical team, too, so we are ready for two big tests. Winning the SheBelieves Cup means we are now a scalp for every other nation and Canada and Spain will be thinking no different.
The acknowledgement we are getting from the England fans is fantastic. I’d actually say it’s the support the players are receiving from you guys that is spurring them on more than the tactics and motivation that me and my coaching staff are giving them, so thank you for your incredible backing – it really does mean everything.
What pleases me more than anything about this squad is the great togetherness and the fact that every player enjoys being away with England.
They are on board with what we want and are enjoying every bit of the challenge.
There is something really special happening in women’s football, I’m certain of that, and we’re just glad to be playing a small part of it.
