England to face Japan, Portugal and Chile at Maurice Revello Tournament in Provence

England will face opposition from Japan, Portugal and Chile in the group stage of this year’s Maurice Revello Tournament in Toulon.

The Young Lions, who head to southern France aiming for a fourth successive title at the prestigious tournament, were drawn out in group A last week.

U20s head coach Paul Simpson will take the squad for this year’s competition, with players born between 1 January 1997 and 31 December 2001 being eligible for the 2019 edition.

And England will open their campaign against Japan on Saturday 1 June in Aubagne.

Their second game is against Portugal three days later in Salon, before the final group match with Chile is on Friday 7 June in Fos-sur-Mer.

After that, the competition progresses to the semi-final stage on Tuesday 11 June, with the final and third-place game being held on Saturday 15 June in Salon.

The other nations this year involved consist of France, Brazil, Guatemala and Qatar in group B and Republic of Ireland, China, Mexico and Bahrain in group C.

England v Portugal: 5.30pm, Tuesday 4 June 2019, Stade D’Honneur, Salon

England v Chile: 7.30pm, Friday 7 June, Stade Parsemain, Fos-sur-Mer
