England will face Austria and Romania in June as part of their preparations for UEFA EURO 2020.
The Three Lions will travel to Vienna to face Austria on Tuesday 2 June 2020 (7.45pm kick-off UK time) at the Ernst Happel Stadion as part of their pre-tournament training camp.
Gareth Southgate’s squad will then host the Romanians on Sunday 7 June 2020 (kick-off TBC) at a venue in England that is still to be confirmed.
Austria have been draw alongside Ukraine, the Netherlands and a play-off winner in Group C of next summer’s finals. June’s fixture will see England return to the scene of their last meeting with Austria – a 1-0 win in November 2007 - and chalk up their 19th encounter with Franco Foda’s side.
Romania, who are hoping to secure their place as hosts at UEFA EURO 2020 via the play-offs in March 2020, last faced England in the group stages of EURO 2000. That 3-2 defeat was one of 11 previous meetings with the Three Lions, who have only won twice.
A date had already been booked with fellow finalists Denmark at Wembley Stadium connected by EE on Tuesday 31 March (8pm kick-off) while opponents for a fixture under the arch on Friday 27 March – to be the Heads Up International in support of The FA’s charitable partnership with HRH The Duke of Cambridge’s Heads Together initiative – will be confirmed in due course.
Following Saturday’s draw in Bucharest, England know they will face Croatia and the Czech Republic in Group D at UEFA EURO 2020 as well as the winner of the play-off path featuring Scotland, Israel, Norway and Serbia. All three fixtures will be played at Wembley with dates set for Sunday 14 June (2pm kick-off v Croatia), Friday 19 June (8pm kick-off v TBC) and Tuesday 23 June (8pm v Czech Republic).
