Manchester City will entertain rivals Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 7 September while Chelsea will host London neighbours Spurs at Stamford Bridge the day after as the Barclays FA WSL is set for a bumper opening weekend.
The Manchester derby will be a first-ever professional encounter between City and United’s women’s teams, and just the second time Nick Cushing’s side will have performed at the Etihad, having beaten Everton there in the Conti Cup in May 2014.
Emma Hayes’s Chelsea side have enjoyed Champions League ties in front of the Shed in the past, but never a WSL match.
Tickets for Chelsea v Tottenham (12.30pm, Sunday 8 September) are free and you can claim yours from the club’s official website.
Tickets for Man City v Man Utd (3pm, Saturday 7 September) are £7 for adults (£5 concessions) with up to three under-16s permitted to attend for FREE with each adult ticket. Tickets for any additional Under-16s are priced at a reduced rate of £2 each.
These matches give fans the chance to welcome back 26 players who represented eight different nations at this summer’s World Cup in France.
Manchester United’s Jackie Groenen helped Netherlands finish runners-up to USA while Chelsea duo Jonna Andersson and Magdalena Eriksson picked up a bronze medal with Sweden.
