Isobel Christiansen has undergone successful surgery on an ankle injury sustained in England’s SheBelieves Cup win over Japan on Tuesday.
Following further assessment, the 27-year-old had an operation on Friday afternoon.
Christiansen will now begin a rehabilitation programme as she aims to be fit for this summer’s World Cup finals.
Head coach Phil Neville said: “We were delighted to hear from Izzy yesterday and that her operation went well.
“We are all wishing her a speedy recovery and will be supporting her in every way we can over her rehabilitation period.”
The Lionesses have scheduled four home matches in the build-up to France 2019.
First up is Canada at Manchester City’s Academy Stadium on Friday 5 April. Then it’s Spain in Swindon four days later.
Euro 2017 runners-up Denmark will visit Banks’s Stadium in Walsall on Saturday 25 May before New Zealand play their part in England’s World Cup send-off in Brighton on Saturday 1 June.
