It’s going to be a good night for you at the Vitality Stadium, going back there and playing with England. How have you settled in since your move in January?

Yeah, really well. It’s a good club and I’m enjoying it. Everyone at the club is really looking forward to the game and I’m sure the England lads are as well. The last international week was quite a while ago, so I think the boys will be ready to play again as we look forward to the Euros.

We actually played our first home game of this campaign against Latvia in Bournemouth, when you were part of the squad. What do you remember about that game?

It was a great start to the qualifiers for us. I came on in the second half and we got a good win, after drawing our first match in Holland. I remember the atmosphere was quite good and we always tend to get that with the England U21 games so it’s always something to look forward to with our home games. The fans always come out and support us and it’s great for the lads.

Solanke came on as a substitute in last week's game with Poland in Bristol

After that game, you went on to qualify by topping the group table and qualifying for the U21 EURO Finals, so you must arrive back in Bournemouth full of confidence?

Yeah, we’ve got a really good group with a lot of talented players. A lot of us have played together since we were with the U17s, so we know that if we go there and play as well as we can then we’re more than capable of winning it. Hopefully we can do that, but in the last few games against Italy and Denmark, we showed that we can beat some of the top nations.

Of course, after the U21s, everyone will be aiming to challenge for a place in the senior squad. You’ve had a little taste of it already, but that should be the target for everyone…

Definitely. For most of the group, this year will be their last involvement in the England youth teams so after that it’s all about getting into the seniors. I think Gareth is a fantastic person for us to have in that job, because we know he’s interested in us and watches the younger players, so if we can keep performing for our clubs then we have a chance. It’s a good time and I hope all of the boys will be pushing towards that.
