Gareth Southgate paid tribute to his squad’s attacking prowess after England sealed their spot at next summer’s EURO 2020 Finals.
The Three Lions smashed seven goals past Montenegro at a buoyant Wembley Stadium, as the nation also celebrated England’s 1000th international.
And the manager was happy to secure qualification, after missing their chance last month when they lost to Czech Republic in Prague.
"We always felt we would [qualify] from this group, and we should, but most of the games looked more straightforward than they were,” he said.
"That's great credit to the way we've passed the ball throughout this campaign and the quality of our attacking play and ruthlessness of our finishing.
"We've got a lot of exciting attacking players and people are often talking about a need for creativity but we've scored more goals than any team in Europe and sometimes that's been underestimated.
"We've found a way to break down these teams who defend in numbers, and Harry's finishing is top - he's a world class centre forward.
“So, we knew we had a team tonight right the way through who would be really comfortable with the ball.
“Speed, athleticism, two high midfield players who can score goals as well and they did that in the first half and they’d killed the game within 25 minutes really.”
The game also saw a couple of firsts, with Tammy Abraham netting his first goal at senior level after coming off the bench alongside James Maddison who was making his debut.
"It's a lovely moment, when you see his [Abraham] beaming smile, which he has on his face most of the time,” he added.
“It's special for him on a night when we're celebrating 1000 games, James Maddison gets his debut and Tammy gets his first goal.
"It's lovely when there's so many former players here that they're starting out and establishing their own journey.
"We have some good young players coming through and it's getting difficult to pick a squad and difficult to pick a team.”
There was one sour note though, with a section of supporters booing Joe Gomez when he came off the bench in the second half, following the events from earlier in the week.
"It's hugely disappointing, all of our England players, not one of them should be booed,” said Southgate.
"I don't understand it, Joe has done nothing wrong. The whole dressing room are disappointed with it, because the dressing room are tight, every one of them.
“Contrary to what I’m told has been said in various quarters, all of the players are united, the whole thing was put to bed the other day.
“He’s got the support of all of us - the whole dressing room, totally united. And we’ll make sure we’re there for him.
“I needed to get him on the pitch because he's been two or three months with us and we haven't got him onto the field so that was very important for us as a team.”
