England midfielder Keira Walsh believes the entire squad must be ready to defend the SheBelieves Cup crown when they touch down in America.
Phil Neville's reigning champions face a rematch with USA in their opening game in Orlando on Friday 6 March.
The England manager will have a wealth of options available to him when he names his squad for the annual competition, which will also see England face Japan and Spain.
And although Walsh relishes the opportunity to take on some of the best teams in the world, she also sees it as a good chance to try something new.
"The best thing about the competition is the quality of the opponents - none of those games are easy and that pushes us even harder," said the 22-year-old.
"The travel is exhausting but there's a quick turnaround between the games and that means the squad needs to be ready.
"I think that brings in opportunities for players and the manager to try new tactics and systems without the pressure of it being a World Cup."
The Manchester City player has been a regular under Neville and was part of the squad that were knocked out of the World Cup last year at the hands of the Americans.
However, when the Tokyo Olympics roll around this summer, Neville will only be able to select 18 players from the home nations - a scenario that will only intensify the healthy competition within the squad.
"Obviously, there'll be competition for places because there's only 18 that can go but I've always believed that competitiveness in the squad is a good thing," she added.
"As long as the team is winning and playing well, that's always the most important thing but he [Neville] will have a lot of players to chose between this summer which is great."
The memories of that semi-final defeat to USA last summer have not left Walsh entirely yet but that has not affected her desire to play against the number-one ranked team in the world.
And she hopes that Spain's addition, in place of Brazil, will be a good chance to get a look at potential UEFA EURO 2021 opponents and for fans to see some easy-on-the-eye football.
"When we played them [USA] in the World Cup, it didn't go the way we wanted and that was tough to take, but the girls always relish the chance to play USA," said Walsh.
"We all want to put things right when we play them but ultimately it is about us having the confidence to take them on again.
"Spain play good football, they like to get the ball down and keep it and are a very good team so from a personal perspective you don't like playing against teams like that.
"It's nice to have another European team at the competition this time because it's a chance to get familiar ahead of EURO 2021."
