England Women's U21s picked up a victory over France in the first of their double-header at St. George's Park on Thursday afternoon.
Rehanne Skinner's squad have been at the national football centre this week in preparation for two games against the French and the Young Lionesses got off to a winning start.
There was just four minutes on the clock when Tottenham Hotspur forward Rianna Dean let fly with a shot past French keeper Justine Lerond to put England ahead, a lead which they never relinquished.
England will play host again for the second game against France on Sunday afternoon.
