Ebony Salmon, in action for England WU21s in August 2019, will join the senior squad for the first time in February

Ebony Salmon has been called up by England for the first time ahead of the meeting with Northern Ireland on Tuesday 23 February.

The Bristol City forward has represented England up to U19 level, and captained the Young Lionesses squad that finished fourth at the UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship in 2018.

Salmon will join the rest of the 21-player squad when they meet on Thursday 18 February at the national team’s training base, St. George’s Park.

“Ebony is a player who we have monitored closely for her club and through our development teams and is a young talented player who we think will benefit from exposure to the senior environment," said coach Hege Riise.

“She's been performing consistently at club level, showing great speed and scoring goals so we are excited to welcome her on camp next week.”

Riise named her first squad since being appointed earlier this week, as the Lionesses prepare for their first game of 2021 and since the SheBelieves Cup in USA last March.
