As the curtain raises on the 2024/25 season, St. George’s Park is proud to have played host to a number of professional clubs from around the world, as each prepare for their respective new campaigns.

8 sides selected the world-class environment at St. George’s Park for pre-season performance camps, utilising England’s training facilities in preparation for the months of football ahead. Alongside the Qatar national team, we’ve welcomed Sheffield Wednesday, AFC Bournemouth, West Bromwich Albion, AZ Alkmaar, Manchester United Women, Watford and AS Roma to our site in the heart of Staffordshire.

AS Roma rounded off the busy summer at St. George’s Park, as Head Coach Daniele De Rossi, and players including Paulo Dybala and Lorenzo Pellegrini, in addition to Three Lions Chris Smalling and Tammy Abraham, get set for their Serie A opener against Cagliari.

Gianni Brignardello, AS Roma Athletic Coach, said: “We came here [St. George’s Park] for a week of good training sessions, in great facilities and with good weather. It has been good for us.

“It’s [St. George’s Park] amazing, but I knew this as I visited St. George’s Park when I worked as a fitness coach with Watford. Since the first day, I thought it was unbelievable.

“Our training ground, as a club training ground, is really good, but here, it’s super.”

Manchester United Women were among this summer's visitors

As part of these training camps, a total of 9 matches have been played across the site, in addition to an eight-team Premier League Academy tournament, and six-team Nike/Women’s Super League Future Player tournament, showcasing talent for our future generation of female players.

A combined 204 hours of pitch time has been delivered over the course of five weeks, with the high quality of our playing surfaces drawing praise from each visiting team to have used them.

Championship side Watford made use of the St. George's Park facilities in pre-season

Following the conclusion of their stay with us at St. George’s Park, we were delighted to see four of our guest teams winning their opening fixtures of the new season – and wish them continued success throughout their respective league campaigns.
