Reading FC sanctioned for misconduct in relation to crowd control

Tuesday 27 Aug 2024

Reading have been sanctioned for misconduct in relation to crowd control at their EFL League One game against Port Vale on Saturday 13 January 2024.

The club admitted that they failed to ensure their spectators and/or supporters (and anyone purporting to supporters or followers) conduct themselves in an orderly fashion; don’t behave in an improper, threatening or provocative way; or commit any form of pitch incursion.

An independent Regulatory Commission imposed a £7,500 fine, with £3,750 suspended until the end of the 2024/25 season, and a warning during a hearing.

The independent Regulatory Commission’s written reasons for these sanctions can be read below.
