Over 5,000 air miles separate Zimbabwe and Wembley Stadium – home to England women’s Lionesses – but a donation made by The FA and KitAid has brought the two nations closer than ever.

Six girls, who all play for Lobengula City Queens – a club that KitAid continues to support through an existing partnership with Majinkila Hope Foundation in Bulawayo – have seen their dreams brought to life by the The FA and KitAid.

The girls were called up by the Zimbabwe under-17s national side and have been supported in their ambitions to represent their country on the international stage.

And without the donation – which saw The FA and KitAid supply the girls with England women’s tracksuit bottoms and shorts – the girls would have been excluded from competing in a formal league.

Earlier this year, The FA donated a set of England women’s training kits to a girls' football team in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, through KitAid, who have distributed over a million kits to teams and individuals across the globe since its formation over 25 years ago.

The initiative builds on The FA’s ongoing collaboration with KitAid, a charity that recycles football kits and distributes them to underprivileged children and adults in some of the world’s poorest countries – to make a real difference.
