Lionesses assistant Arjan Veurink will depart the FA after this summer's EUROs

Tuesday 15 Apr 2025

England women’s senior team assistant coach Arjan Veurink will depart following UEFA EURO 2025 to take on the role of Netherlands women's head coach.

Veurink continues to be a highly valued and respected member of Sarina Wiegman’s team, with his complete focus remaining on the Lionesses’ current UEFA Women’s Nations League campaign and this summer’s tournament in Switzerland.

Having joined the FA alongside the head coach when the pair first took charge of the Lionesses in September 2021, Wiegman and Veurink have worked together since 2017.

The duo led the Oranje to the European title in the same year, reaching the final of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019 in France before making the switch to the Lionesses and going on to win EURO 2022 on home soil – a first trophy for England since 1966.

Previously, Veurink served as head coach of FC Twente's women team, who won the KNVB Cup, four championship titles and qualified for the UEFA Women's Champions League under his tutelage.

And there is plenty of work to be done ahead of and during this year’s major tournament – which runs from 2 to 27 July – before bidding farewell.
