Tottenham Hotspur’s Luana Bühler has her eyes on the prize as Spurs prepare to enter this season’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup when the competition gets back underway this weekend.

And the Swiss international is raring to go heading into the tie after the club ended the calendar year on a high, with three wins and a draw from their last four outings to sign off 2024.

“We’re really motivated to go again,” said Bühler. “As we reached the final last year, I think that gives us a bit of extra motivation because we know what it feels like to be there. We want to get as close as possible again.”

Tottenham – last season’s runners-up – came close to getting their hands on the trophy and this time around, they want to go one better. But first, they need to get past fourth round opponents Everton.

“It’s a cup and in cup games, it’s always the day that decides – who has the better performance on the day can decide a lot,” explained the defender.

“There are only a few games, so we keep that in mind by going to it wanting to win all the games and it’s a great opportunity to win a trophy.”

Last year, Spurs reached the Women’s FA Cup final – which drew in over 76,000 fans who were in attendance at Wembley Stadium – for the first time in the club’s history.

Despite losing to eventual winners Manchester United under the famous arch, it was still an occasion to remember for the 28 year old and her teammates.

“It was just incredible,” continued Bühler. “There aren’t many words to describe what it felt like to be in that crowd and in that stadium with an opportunity to play for a title. I still lack words because of the atmosphere, having friends, family and supporters there was amazing.”

On Sunday, Robert Vilahamn’s side make the trip to Walton Hall Park to battle it out with league rivals, the Toffees, for a place in the fifth round proper and take a step closer to Wembley.

“They are a physically strong opponent who are going to fight for it until the very last moment,” said Bühler. “It was a tough game the last time around as well. We know we’re going to be prepared for duels and a lot of running, but we’re hoping for a win.”
