Portsmouth FC sanctioned

Portsmouth have been sanctioned by an independent Regulatory Commission for misconduct in relation to crowd control at the EFL League One match against Barnsley on Tuesday 16 April.

Portsmouth admitted that they failed to ensure their spectators and/or supporters (and anyone purporting to be supporters or followers) conducted themselves in an orderly fashion; didn’t behave in an improper, violent, threatening or provocative way; and/or throw missiles; and/or commit any form of pitch incursion.

The independent Regulatory Commission imposed a £50,000 fine and warning as to future conduct on Portsmouth following a hearing. The written reasons for these sanctions can be seen below.
