The Isuzu FA Trophy

FA Trophy Second Round Proper draw made

Monday 02 Dec 2013

The draw for the Second Round Proper of The FA Trophy was made at Wembley on Monday morning as the road to Wembley starts to take shape.

With the Conference Premier clubs joining the competition in the First Round Proper, it turned out to be a weekend of shocks in The Trophy, with ten of those outfits being knocked out.

Whitstable Town beat Hendon on Sunday in what was one of the biggest upsets - and they are rewarded with a home tie against fellow Kent club Ebbsfleet United.

Conference North outfit Bradford Park Avenue were another of those to cause a shock with their win over Kidderminster Harriers and they now face a Yorkshire derby in the next round with the short trip to Guiseley.

Gosport Borough's victory over Concord Rangers on Saturday meant they reached this stage for the first time in their history and they will host Nuneaton Town as they bid to go even further.

Meanwhile, Chorley of the Northern Premier League will be at home against a Conference National team in the Second Round, with either Dartford or Forest Green Rovers making the trip north to Victory Park.

There are two potentially big games as Wrexham await a possible trip to take on Luton Town, who play Staines Town in a replay this week.

And Grimsby Town could face a trip to Barnet, but will have to overcome Coalville Town who held them to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
