England No.1 Joe Hart kept a clean sheet for Manchester City as they secured their second Premier League title with a 2-0 victory over West Ham.
City knew they just had to avoid defeat to win the league, with second-place Liverpool two points behind and with an inferior goal difference going in to their last game of the season against Newcastle at Anfield.
And Hart provided the solid platform for City to beat the Hammers 2-0 at the Etihad to secure the Premier League crown in style.
Samir Nasri opened the scoring in the 39th minute before captain Vincent Kompany made it 2-0 just minutes into the second half.
England stars James Milner and Andy Carroll were also both involved, with Milner introduced as a substitute for the champions in the 76th minute while striker Andy Carroll came off in the 72nd minute for the visitors.
Liverpool, meanwhile, kept up their side of the bargain by coming from behind to beat Newcastle and had Three Lions hotshot Daniel Sturridge to thank for their winning goal.
Martin Skrtel's own goal handed Newcastle a 20th-minute lead but Daniel Agger equalised on 63 before Sturridge swooped two minutes later.
But, despite taking all three points against Newcastle, who ended the contest with nine men after Shola Ameobi and Paul Dummett were both sent off, they had to settle for second place.
Meanwhile, another England striker, Rickie Lambert, capped a fine season with his 13th goal in all competitions as Southampton held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw at St Mary's.
The 32-year-old collected a through-ball from Steven Davis and stroked the Saints ahead after 28 minutes but Juan Mata levelled for the visitors just before the hour-mark.
Southampton's team also included Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw.
England boss Roy Hodgson will name his provisional World Cup squad on Monday.
