Clattenburg will be assisted by Simon Beck and Stuart Burt, with Michael Oliver and Anthony Taylor acting as additional assistant referees and Darren England performing fourth official duties for the game on Tuesday 12 August.

The appointments for this game at the Cardiff City Stadium, which pits the respective winners of the UEFA Champions League and Europa League against each other, are the latest in a string of successes for English officials in 2014.
With Darren England currently in Hungary at the UEFA European U19 Championship Finals, where he will be an assistant referee in Thursday’s final and Sian Massey and Natalie Walker preparing for the FIFA Women’s U20 World Cup in Canada, there is plenty to be proud about.

"Mark Clattenburg was a strong contender for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil and this appointment demonstrates how highly he is regarded by UEFA.
"Like The FA Community Shield, which will involve Michael Oliver, Stuart Burt and Darren England, the UEFA Super Cup is a spectacular opening to the season and is one of UEFA’s most prestigious appointments.
"Darren England’s appointment as first assistant referee for the UEFA U19 final between Germany and Portugal in Budapest on Thursday, Sian Massey and Natalie Walker’s arrival in Canada for the FIFA women’s U20 World Cup Finals and Marc Birkett’s recent appointment to referee the Women’s World University Championships Final further emphasise the breadth and quality of English officials and how highly English refereeing is regarded by UEFA and FIFA."
County Durham-born Clattenburg, 39, has been an international referee since 2006 and has so far officiated at a total of 46 UEFA fixtures in his career, as well as a considerable number of high-level English domestic encounters.
Last season, Clattenburg refereed five UEFA Champions League matches, including the quarter final first leg between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, as well as the UEFA Europa League semi-final second leg between Juventus and Benfica.
He also took charge of the 2012 Olympic Games men’s football tournament gold-medal match between Brazil and Mexico at Wembley Stadium in London, and was an additional assistant referee at UEFA EURO 2012.
