View casting guidebookThe FA Player is our new streaming platform. It has exclusive women’s football content and designed to be the new home of women’s football, where you can watch live matches, highlights, features, archive and previews from the Barclays FA Women’s Super League, the FA Women’s Championship, the Lionesses, the Women’s FA Cup and the Women’s Continental League Cup – all for free.
Live Video: Live video offers fans alternative ways to follow matches if you can’t attend games. It gives you full match coverage and live commentary of every Barclays FA WSL game and one FA Women’s Championship game each round during the season (from September 2019). In some instances, there may be restrictions on what fixtures can be broadcast via live video due to broadcasting rules and regulations.
Live video broadcasts can only be watched on desktop, mobile and tablet devices via The FA Player’s official app. Live audio commentary is also available on all devices.
Live Audio: Live audio offers fans alternative ways to follow matches if you can’t attend games. It gives you live commentary of select Barclays FA WSL games in the UK which are being broadcast in full on BT Sport (there will be no Live Video for games broadcast on BT Sport in the UK).
The ‘live video’ or ‘live audio’ buttons will be available 1 hour prior to kick-off.
All times shown in The FA Player are local times for the country you have accessed The FA Player.
The FA Player is a free service, all you have to do is sign up at FAPlayer.tv or download the app below to gain full access to live games and exclusive video on demand.
As The FA Player is a free subscription, you’ll be able to opt-in and opt-out of marketing and communication services and unsubscribe from emails. If you have The FA Player app, you can delete the app from your device.
You’ll only be able to sign up to The FA Player via the official website or apps below:
Live video streams and video on demand content is available across the desktop and mobile versions of the official FA Player website or app on mobile or tablet.

View casting guidebookYes, The FA Player will be available in the UK and internationally. Barclays FA Women's Super League matches shown live on BT Sport in the UK will be shown in full on The FA Player outside of the UK, but commentary only in the UK. Also, certain Lionesses match highlights may only be available in the UK due to broadcasting rules and regulations.
The following international territories will be restricted from watching Barclays FA Women's Super League matches live, but will have full access to video on demand, highlights and features:
Your device needs to comply with the following minimum system requirements:
You’ll need a Wi-Fi or broadband internet connection (DSL/cable or higher) with a minimum download speed of at least 1.2Mbps with latency not exceeding 100ms for SD and 4Mbps with latency not exceeding 50ms for HD (mobile data may not be supported).
If you’re travelling abroad, please use a Wi-Fi network or broadband connection to view and maintain full compatibility (this allows the country you are in to be recognised as a selected territory).
During the game, please contact us below to report your technical issues so we can investigate whether there is a problem with the broadcast. If there are no issues at the broadcast end, we will need to complete troubleshooting steps, these may involve confirming details about the device, software and your internet connection.
Is your connection fast enough? Try to stop all current downloads, videos you are watching or torrents and visit http://www.speedtest.net to test your download speed. Results should show a minimum of at least 2Mbps to process streamed content along with usual browsing activities efficiently.
