England international Toni Duggan to leave Everton

England striker Toni Duggan has confirmed she is leaving FA WSL outfit Everton.

The 22-year-old turned down a new contract offer with the Blues and will instead move on.

Duggan made her England senior debut in September last year and has now picked up 14 caps with an impressive return of eight goals. She also collected the England Women's Under-23 Player of the Year award.

In this year's Women's Super League campaign for Everton, she scored 13 goals as her side finished in fifth place.

"Leaving Everton is by far the hardest decision I have ever had to make," Duggan told Everton's website.

"Everton has played a massive part in my life and I can't express enough my admiration and thanks to them for the opportunities and amazing memories that will live with me forever.

"As hard as it is, I just feel now is the time to move on and continue to challenge myself to become the best player I can be."

She added: "I would like to personally thank Mo Marley, Andy Spence and Keith Marley for everything that they have done for me from the age of 10.

"If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't even be playing the game, let alone playing for England."

Duggan is the second player to exit Everton in the last two weeks, after fellow England international Jill Scott joined Manchester City.
