Havant and Waterlooville manager Lee Bradbury made his mark in the FA Cup as a 21-year-old when he scored a winner in an FA Cup Fifth Round tie.
He was playing for Portsmouth at the time, as they recorded a 3-2 victory over Leeds at Elland Road to reach the quarter-finals in 1997.
And now, 17 years on, Bradbury is hoping to reignite his love for the competition from the touchline when his side host Preston in the first round on Monday night.

Although things could change next week, Bradbury still rates his winning goal away at Leeds as his fondest memory in the famous competition.
"It was such a special moment because I was only a young lad at the time and it meant we got Chelsea in the next round.
"We were well beaten in the end but playing on the same pitch as Mark Hughes, Dennis Wise and Gianfranco Zola was a great moment for me," the 39-year-old said.
The Hawks have FA Cup history of their own, back in 2008 they were handed a dream tie away at Anfield in the fourth round and twice took the lead before Liverpool ran out 5-2 winners.
Now the former Portsmouth and Manchester City front man is hoping his side can create another historic moment in the FA Cup and cause his first big upset as a manager.
He added: "There is no pressure on the lads, most people are expecting Preston to win.
"We've had a clear week and will have trained three times since we last played. Being on the TV definitely raises the profile of the game and will give the players a new experience."
The Hampshire club may be influenced with a lucky omen in their squad, striker Alan Connell has a great Cup pedigree and has been involved in some big upsets in recent years.
In 2012, he scored the equaliser against Wigan Athletic as Swindon Town, who were in League Two at the time, sent the 2013 winners crashing out in the FA Cup third round.
The 31-year-old forward also put away what turned out to be the decisive spot-kick when Bradford knocked Arsenal out the League Cup quarter-finals two years ago.
Connell is yet to score for his new club and Bradbury admitted it would be great for him to break his duck against Preston.
"It will be special for him to score his first goal in The Cup," he added.
"Alan's been struggling to get in the side with injuries recently but he needs to remain patient and I'm sure the goals will come."
Havant & Waterlooville is live on BT Sport, Monday 10 November at 8pm.
