England U16s left-back Vashon Neufville signs new West Ham deal

England Under-16s defender Vashon Neufville has signed a new contract with West Ham United.

The left-back joined the Hammers academy at U11s level from Chelsea, and has since progressed through the ranks to become an integral member of the club’s U18s last season, where he made 22 appearances and scored once.

The 15-year-old, who won four caps for the Young Lions under Steve Cooper as well as appearing for his country at the Nordic U17 Tournament last summer, told WHUFC.com: “I’m very pleased to have signed my contract, I just can’t wait to get back playing now.

'I hope one day to make my debut in the new stadium, if not before'

“I love West Ham, I’m very happy to have signed a new three year deal.

"It’s nice to get my scholarship here but to get the professional deal too is a dream come true.

“This is the best moment of my career. I’ve had several good moments in a West Ham shirt but this is definitely the best.”

Neufville has signed a scholarship and will turn professional on his 17th birthday.

He said: “It’s a very exciting time to be at West Ham. I hope one day to make my debut in the new stadium, if not before.

"I can’t wait to go to the new stadium, I went there a few months ago for a tour.

"It was an amazing place and an amazing experience. It was very moving, an eye-catching stadium.”
