A brand new online course perfect for anyone interested in learning more about spotting stars of the future has been launched by The FA.
The FA Talent Identification Level 1: An Introduction to Scouting was officially unveiled to more than 300 scouts at the 2016 FA Talent ID Conference at St. George’s Park on Friday 2 December and is now available to the whole game.
Broken into six short modules, the course introduces learners to the world of football scouting and focuses on the knowledge and skills needed to recognise players with the potential to play at a more advanced level.
Nick Baker, learning design and development manager in FA Education said: “We are thrilled to introduce this fantastic new course. The FA is committed to formalising this area as a specialism, equipping more participants with the skills to realise potential. This course is a stepping stone on that journey.
"Hosting six short modules, the course will take learners through topics such as understanding your responsibilities as a scout and establishing a rounded view of player potential.
“It will provide two hours of CPD through innovative and flexible learning, is open to all and comes at no cost to the learner.”
